Congratulations to Erin, Annabelle, Oscar and Albert who are this year's sports ambassadors. After many excellent speeches that the children gave to the class about why they thought they should be a sports ambassador, the class voted for who would represent the school this year. They have now had their initial training and are already planning events back in school.

For our first writing sequence of the year, we wrote flashback stories. Our end goal was to present these stories as a 'CBeeBies Bedtime Story'. Some fantastic stories were produced and the video were sent home to parents to enjoy. Here we all are in our pyjamas on the day of recording!

We had a smooth coach journey to Bawdsey. Once we got there, we were able to get straight into our rooms to get settled in. Once we had, some of us played some ball games outside while others chose to chill out in their rooms. Dinner was a choice of lasagne or sausage roll with vegan nuggets and pasta and tomato sauce available as well, not forgetting the toffee muffin for pudding! After that, we had a bit more time to chill out in rooms or play some basketball before our evening activity of Passport to the World. This was a big orienteering activity in groups, finding flags around the site and answering questions about the countries. Then back to the accommodation for showers and bed.
The children didn't need any help getting up for breakfast this morning, which was sausages, hash browns, baked beans, with a selection of cereals and toast as well. Room inspection followed, which was very impressive, with all 3 rooms getting the same score. Our morning activities were archery and the giant swing before we had lunch of pizza and chips. In the afternoon, we had the challenge course, followed by the trapeze. Dinner was a choice of chicken or fish fingers and pasta or chips with jelly for pudding. Our evening activity was balloon smash, where the children competed to win materials to protect a water balloon when dropped from a height. One group managed to keep their balloon intact and then decided they should throw it at their teacher as well as the spare balloons and bucket of water. A fun-packed day and we will do it all again tomorrow!
We started the day with a similar breakfast as yesterday, but with bacon instead of sausages. The standard of room inspection was very high again, so I can only assume all of their bedrooms are very tidy at home! In the morning our activities were problem-solving, followed by Jacob's Ladder. For lunch we had a choice of bolognaise or ratatouille, with a few children opting for the alternative of a ham or cheese sandwich. In the afternoon, we had survivor, where we built shelters, lit fires and whittled sticks. This was followed by climbing. Dinner was Katsu curry or mac and cheese, with a brownie for dessert. Our evening activity was camp fire where we sang lots of songs and roasted marshmallows over the fire. Then time to start getting packed as our trip is nearly at an end.
After the earliest night of the trip for the children, we finished packing and sorting the rooms before breakfast, which was the same as on our first morning. The efficient tidying and packing allowed us time to play on the basketball court or chill out around the grass and trees before taking on fencing in the manor house. This was followed by the zip wire. Lunch was jacket potatoes with a choice of toppings or veggie chilli and rice for our final meal at PGL. Then it was straight onto the coach and back to school, arriving in record time, earlier than anticipated. We finish the trip with very tired children and staff as ever, but everyone had a great time and the children were a real credit to the school in their behaviour, respect and manners. Multiple instructors from PGL commented to me about how respectful our children had been, which was lovely to hear.
