World Book Day 2026 – Chestnut Class

Chestnut Class took part in a variety of activities for World Book Day 2026. Pupils began the day with Maths Code Breakers, using clues linked to well‑known book titles to solve a series of challenges. They then joined the World Book Day BBC Live Lesson, engaging with the reading tasks and discussions presented during the broadcast.

During the morning, children wrote reviews of their favourite books, focusing on what the story is about, why they recommend it, and who might enjoy it. Later, they visited Cherry Class to read aloud and share stories, giving them the chance to support and model reading for younger pupils.

The day concluded with a whole‑school assembly that showcased the wide range of costumes worn by pupils. Everyone also had the opportunity to see the creative entries submitted for the ‘Extreme Reading’ challenge, along with a few light‑hearted moments from staff celebrating their own enjoyment of reading.
