BENTFIELD NURSERY APPLICATION

To apply for a place at Bentfield Nursery please complete an online application form as soon as possible (please use this LINK or an editable pdf of this form can be found below).

Once you have completed this form please return it to the school office along with a copy of your child's birth certificate (please do not send the original certificate to the school).

Bentfield Nursery accepts children in the term that they turn 3 years old. Parents/carers are welcome to apply for a place at Bentfield Nursery at any point in the year. We also have up to 5 afternoon spaces available for those families that are entitled to funding for 2 year olds.

If you are entitled to 15 hours of government funding your child will either be able to attend during the morning sessions (8.45am - 11.45am) or afternoons sessions (12.15pm - 3.15pm). If your child is aged 2, they will attend during the afternoon sessions. If they are aged 3 or above we encourage them to attend the morning sessions.

If you are entitled to 30 hours of funded childcare, once your child turns 3 they will have the opportunity to attend for full days at our Nursery (8.45am - 3.15pm). Please see the funding form leaflet for further information regarding funding and indicate on your application form which hours your child will be attending on your application form.

The number of terms that your child will attend in the afternoon will depend on when their birthday is-

  • Birth date from 1st September – 31st December, the child will start in January and attend for two terms in the afternoon.
  • Birth date from 1st January – 31st March, the child will start in April and attend for two terms in the afternoon.
  • Birth date from 1st April – 31st August, the child will start in September and attend for two terms in the afternoon.

Once your child turns 3, they will be encouraged to switch from the afternoon sessions to the morning sessions. If you are eligible for 30 hours of funding then during the term that your child turns 3, you will be able to extend your child's hours and they can attend all day. Once your child turns 3, if you are eligible to 15 hours funding you have the option to extend your child's hours and pay for any additional afternoon sessions attended. This option is not guaranteed and is dependent on our availability at the time.

Once you have submitted your application, you will be contacted by a member of the admin team to confirm the details. Applications will be held and allocated (as per our Admissions Policy) in February for the following academic year. You will be contacted in writing to to let you know if your application has been successful.

If a year group is over subscribed, then the child will be placed on a waiting list and places will be offered as per our Nursery Admissions Policy.
