Having a school allotment offers numerous benefits, enriching children's education and well-being. It provides a hands-on learning experience that reinforces subjects like science and environmental studies, helping our pupils understand concepts such as plant growth, ecosystems, and sustainability in an engaging way. Gardening also encourages responsibility, patience, and teamwork as children work together to care for plants. Additionally, it promotes healthy eating habits by teaching pupils where food comes from and encouraging them to try fresh produce. The physical activity involved supports their overall fitness, while the calming effect of nature enhances mental well-being.
If you would like to get involved please fill out THIS short online form or email us on allotment@bentfield.essex.sch.uk
