School Dinners

Our school dinners are freshly prepared daily on site in our own school kitchens. To ensure the highest standards we use Herts Catering who provide nutritionally balanced meals, and who adhere to all current procedures when considering allergens. The menu lasts for three weeks before being repeated to ensure a wide variety of choice from one week to the next.

IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY FOOD ALLERGIES

If your child has any food allergies or special dietary requirements, for example no dairy, you must make an application on the Hertfordshire Catering website for a special menu for your child.

This must be done in all cases where a child has specific dietary needs.  We cannot accommodate any dietary requirements without this application being completed.

Please see the link below to make an application to Hertfordshire Catering for a special menu for your child.

We will not be able to provide school meals if an allergy has been reported and no application for a special menu has been made.

WELL DONE TO OUR WONDERFUL CATERING TEAM

Last year our wonderful catering team were nominated for Primary School Catering Team of the year in the annual HCL awards. They were shortlisted down to the last 3 in their category and attended an awards ceremony in November at a Hotel near Hemel Hempstead.

Sadly on this occasion they did not win, but we wanted to celebrate their achievement and thank them for all their hard work serving up wonderful meals in our school each day.

Natalie, Caroline & Sue - you are all amazing.  Who knows, maybe this year will be the one!

EAT THEM TO DEFEAT THEM

Our Catering Manager Natalie in costume with pictures from our children of some of the vegetables they have been tastingYou may have seen the adverts that have been running over the last few months encouraging everyone to eat vegetables.

We have been following this up in school and each week our Catering Manager, Natalie and her team have been introducing various vegetables for the children to look at, smell and taste.

The week commencing  5th July was Pea week.  To ramp up the fun Natalie has been wearing a Pea costume to encourage the children to try out the different types of peas on offer (it is rumoured that Mr Rogers has been spotted around school wearing this costume!).

Our children have also been drawing pictures of some of the vegetables that they have been tasting which Natalie has put on display down in the dining hall.
